Sure, some folks have been burned after watching amateurs perform one “pick-a-card” trick after another… We’ve all sat and watched the bobbling birthday party magician fumble through his pile of magic props. You need to realize that…

THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE PERFORMING MAGIC PUBLICLY THAT SHOULDN’T BE.

This simple truth makes us mad as a hornet! Nearly every day we run into someone who nearly vomits when we tell them we’re magicians. These people have been literally TORTURED with horribly performed magic.

Learning magic is VERY SIMILAR to learning a musical instrument. The first time anyone picks up an instrument they sound HORRIBLE! We used to work in a music store. We quickly learned to put in ear plugs when the students came in for lessons.

Anyone who’s played an instrument will tell you that constant practice is essential to success. After a few weeks you might be able to squeak out “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. IT TAKES COUNTLESS HOURS OF PRACTICE AND YEARS OF DEDICATION TO EVEN GET CLOSE TO PROFESSIONAL SKILL LEVELS!

Would you expect a sixth grader to perform in Carnegie Hall after a single year of instruction? Probably not. What about two years? Three? Anyone with a lick of sense would say that’s crazy!

Comparing professional magicians to these hobbyists is like comparing a Porsche to a Yugo! Don’t get me wrong, hobbyists are the lifeblood of the magic community. It’s just a mistake to lump all magical entertainment into one lot.

Before we get carried away, we should probably introduce ourselves. I’m Mystical Matthew and my Co-Star / Mother is The Great Nancini. You read that right, WE’RE A MOTHER-SON TAG TEAM! I realize that it’s a little unusual for a grown adult guy to perform on stage with his mother, but that’s part of what makes us so unique!

We started in magic over a decade ago building on years of real-world performance art experience! Today we entertain and amaze audiences of ALL AGES, BACKGROUNDS, AND WALKS OF LIFE! We pride ourselves on our versatility as performers.

Over the years we’ve delighted countless audiences and thousands of people. That’s a lot of EXPERIENCE we can bring into your next event to make it the best it can be!

We do MORE than “just another magic show”. Performance art runs deep within our blood. It is our passion, our fixation, and our obsession. As artists we paint with many different brushes. We deftly blend the arts of MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKING, COMEDY, and MAGIC to create a performance that is truly unique!

Our show is MORE than just a bunch of magic tricks. We provide a uniquely tailored entertainment experience that is uniquely different from anything you’ve seen before!

We REALLY WANT your next event to be a success! Here are some questions you should ask about ANY entertainer before hiring them!

• When you speak with them, do they act and speak in a professional manner?

• Are they willing to set clear expectations with you? Most professionals use contracts. If this is your first experience hiring a performer, DON’T BE TURNED OFF BY THIS! Your real concern should be if they DON’T present you with a contract! If you don’t see a contract… DANGER! Beware!

• Do they have PROFESSIONAL sound equipment? It’s fine to use house sound if it’s appropriate. Still, any worthwhile performer will have a professional sound rig of their own to perform with.

• What about a professional back drop? Any stage performer worth their salt knows the value of framing up their performance area. Although it might not be necessary in all situations a professional back drop is ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT for any serious magician.

• Are they going to hit you with HIDDEN CHARGES after the event? Make sure you clarify this up front. Some entertainers will lure you in with a low price initially, only to hit you with extra charges later. Make sure that all expenses, including travel, sound, and support equipment are covered! (For the record we feel this is VERY unethical! The price we give you is the price you’ll pay! Period!)

• Do they genuinely want to PARTNER WITH YOU to make your next event a success? This is ABSOLUTELY THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT! Like I said earlier…You’re putting a lot of time, work, and effort into all of this. The performer plays a large part in making or breaking your success.
